What is the Environmental Levy?

Environmental levies are fees charged on imported items and are intended to go towards the recycling of the item when it is disposed of. This fees are usually charged on items that could have a negative impact on the environment.

Depending on the item, this fee can be a fixed amount ranging from $1 to $500 or be a percentage of the landed cost.
